405nm Laser Diode

Blue, Violet, almost Ultraviolet really. I made a driver board and just need to finish the heatsink and mount it in a case. I bought a translucent blue project box from Hammond that I'll be mounting the laser in.

Based on schematic from http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/Blu-ray/site1/diode.html

Currently I am using a plastic collimating lens intended for a red laser diode.

I need to get a quote on a proper lens such as this one from Lightpath, 352673-A or 352671-A

Both Edmund and Thorlabs carry as well as Newport.

You can see the photodiode in the back of the can. The Violet LD dosen't have a photodiode.
